The world they knew is gone. Replaced by miles and miles of nothing but infected hordes of the undead, product of the Umbrella Corporation. Alice (Milla Jovavich) roams the world alone, afraid to hurt anyone because of the Umbrella Corporation's hold on her. The corporation continually searches for her, to regain total control, but staying on the road keeps her one step ahead. Eventually rescuing a convoy of survivors led by Claire Redfield (Ali Larter), and her old friend Carlos (Oded Fehr), the group receives word of peace and happiness, free of infection in Alaska. Knowing what a long trip that would be, the group decides to enter Las Vegas, to refuel and restock up food and supplies, when they are attacked by a tank full of crazed, fast running undead, dropped by the Umbrella Corporation. Storming an Umbrella HQ to take their helicopter to head to Alaska, Alice breaks off from the convoy, after losing Carlos in an explosion, she heads down into the lower levels of the labs, and is attacked by a horribly mutated Dr. Isaacs (Iain Glen). Dispatching him, Alice discovers a huge room full of clones of her, that the corporation has been using in an effort to replicate her. Releasing them, Alice contacts Umbrella's main HQ in Tokyo, telling them she's coming for them, and she's bringing a few of her friends.
