Based on the very first game in the series, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy follows Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield predominately, but also follows Albert Wesker, Barry Burton and Rebecca Chambers for sections of the book, giving their glimpse of the horror at the Spencer Estate. As the novel is based on the original game, as opposed to the remake, elements such as Lisa Trevor are left out of the novelization.
