While the return of Leon S. Kennedy, Ada Wong and Albert Wesker should have been enough to make this game, it's mainstream action transition alienated many die hard Resident Evil fans, myself included. The classic aspects of the games were discarded, and in it's place, a badly told story of possessed weapon weilding villagers step in.
